Online Family History Skills and Strategies Certificates

Are you interested in learning more about family history in a structured way? Would you like to develop your research skills with online genealogy courses from the comfort of your own home? Are you thinking of becoming a Professional Genealogist and want to get a good foundation in research methods and genealogical sources to support your work?

Pharos Tutors offers two genealogy certificate programmes in English and Welsh research, developed and taught jointly with the Society of Genealogists, called Family History Skills and Strategies (FHSS).

There are two levels: the Intermediate Certificate in Genealogy and the Advanced Certificate in Genealogy.

Our Advanced Certificate in Genealogy is recognised by AGRA (the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives) as part of their membership application process, as our graduates are considered to already meet some of the elements of the application process. Recently receiving additional recognition, our Advanced Certificate graduates now receive the highest level of exemption of application requirements that AGRA offers (this is only offered to one other UK qualification).
